About the League
The Whitby Fire is one of the founding teams of Girls Ball Hockey Leagues, rooted in the Durham Region community for decades. Named in honour of the legacy left by Mary Platt — a founding member of ball hockey in Durham — the Fire carries that spirit forward every season.
Whether you're tying up your running shoes for the first time or returning for another season, the Whitby Fire welcomes female players of all ages and skill levels. We play out of McKinney Arena in Whitby, Ontario.

The Jersey
Every jersey tells a story, and this one is no exception. The journey began with the Whitby Fire league, named for the fiery spirit of our founders — a passion that continues to fuel our dreams today.
The choice of purple honours Mary, who lost her battle with stomach cancer, while the pink ribbon stands as a tribute to Tracy, who passed away from breast cancer.
Each logo, thoughtfully designed by Mackenzie, adds a unique touch, and the initials on every jersey serve as a lasting reminder of the people and memories that inspire us.

Registration is open for the 2027 season at McKinney Arena. All divisions are $205 per registration.
